Les Extravagantes Aventures de Frank Zappa - Book

The most comprehensive trilogy about Frank Zappa is finally complete!

- Les Extravagantes aventures de Frank Zappa, Act 3 traces the highlights of the late 1970s and encounters with Steve Vai, Vinnie Colaiuta, as well as the popular successes of Sheik Yerbouti and Joe's Garage. Act 3 revisits Zappa's civic engagement during the 1980s and his fight against President Reagan, the PMRC censors and televangelists. A struggle that would lead him to consider running for office in the 1990s.

- This final act is devoted to the musical developments made possible by the Synclavier, as well as his travels involving the USSR and the Czech government of Vaclav Havel. Finally, it explores recognition from the classical music world and valuable collaborations with Pierre Boulez, Kent Nagano and the Modern Ensemble, despite illness and the cancer that would take his life.
