Johnny Cash S'est Évadé - Book
On January 13, 1968, Johnny Cash performs at Folsom Prison in California. He does not yet know it, but this marks a new beginning. After years of battling addiction, he is finally clean, thanks in part to June Carter, the love of his life. The live album At Folsom Prison revives his career and reveals his true character: a generous man ahead of his time, part of America's civil rights transformation, the artist Dylan reveres, an American.
Following Cash from Folsom along the Mississippi, through the cotton fields and to his refuge in Hendersonville on Old Hickory Lake, we explore his Promised Land: America. We listen to him sing Orléans, Beaugency, Notre-Dame-de Cléry, Vendôme in “Ride This Train.” Then we pay our respects at Hendersonville Cemetery, where he rests beside June, before returning to the shore of Old Hickory Lake and the ruins of his home.
