Welcome to Cooderville where Kinman's Gold Foil Soapbar delivers slide players Nirvana, great slide tone without mains hum.  Our Gold Foil is more versatile too because it fits guitars with existing P-90.  Kinman solved two problems at once.

Open, clean sound with a little bit of attack-bark, our Gold Foils are particularly good for slide guitar.  Extremely responsive but less aggressive than our other P-90's. 

We make our Gold Foil Soapbar in two versions

• Gold Foil has clean sound with a tasteful amount of woody bark for beyond excellent on-stage definition.  Preferred for the neck position but also works in the bridge.
• Gold Foil Heavy similar in loudness to the Bright Clean Bridge but with slightly attenuated treble response to take out the sizzle, so it sounds more woody, similar to the Supro / Valco / National pickup.  Great bridge pickup for slide.  Preferred for the Bridge position but also good in the neck.

The Kinman Gold Foil 90 Soapbar fit's into guitars that already have P-90s and is interchangeable with them.  That means you are not stuck with one sound, you can swap with any of the 7 wonderful P-90 Hx models and transform your guitar into a completely different TONE monster.  With this kind of versatility your guitar can sound like it has Humbuckers (Bright Nasty 90) through a range of 7 different sounds to a Jazzmaster (580 Alnico Soapbar) and 6 terrific sounds in-between these two extremes.

NOTE, this model can be ordered with a range of decorative and regular Soapbar covers so the price is basic and the decorative covers carry an upcharge.

The Kinman Gold Foil Soapbar is a Zero Hum Gold Foil pickup in a P-90 Soapbar cover.  It is a specially configured version of our acclaimed P-90 Hx to produce the sound of a Tiesco Gold Foil pickup minus mains hum.  Like our other P-90 models it has amazing extended dynamic range for more expression.

Some people will call these noiseless Gold Foil pickups but Kinman prefers to describe them correctly as Zero-Hum Gold Foil pickups.  That's because there are 2 types of noise, Hum which is cancelled in the pickup and Buzz which can only be minimized by shielding the wiring cavities (refer to >Technical >Perfect Guitar >Shielding for newer guitars
